TikTok has voluntarily shut down its services in the United States after a Supreme Court ruling upheld a law requiring its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to divest from TikTok or face a nationwide ban.
The app is no longer available in the Apple and Google app stores, and users in the U.S. are greeted with a message stating that TikTok is not accessible due to the enacted law.
The Biden administration has indicated that enforcement of the law will be left to the incoming Trump administration, which has suggested a possible 90-day extension to allow TikTok to find a solution.
