David Moyes has been appointed as Everton manager for the second time.
This comes after the club sacked Sean Dyche earlier this week.
Moyes, who previously managed Everton from 2002 to 2013, replaces Dyche just hours before the FA Cup tie against Peterborough.
Moyes expressed his excitement about returning to the club, saying, “It’s great to be back! I enjoyed 11 wonderful and successful years at Everton and didn’t hesitate when I was offered the opportunity to rejoin this great club.”
He also mentioned his eagerness to work with the new owners, The Friedkin Group, to rebuild the club.
His first match back in charge will be against Aston Villa on January 15. Everton is currently hovering just above the Premier League relegation zone, so Moyes’ immediate task will be to ensure the club’s survival in the top flight.
