The experienced tactician said his mandate was for two games.
Eguavoen, a technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was brought in after Bruno Labbadia walked away from his role within days of being hired to manage the Super Eagles.
He took charge of two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
