Donald Trump has indeed claimed to have influenced the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal.
The ceasefire is expected to take effect on January 19, 2025.
Both the Biden administration and President-elect Trump worked together to advance the agreement, with both leaders taking credit for the expected return of an estimated 100 Israeli hostages and a complete ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking on the Dan Bongino Show on Thursday, Trump said: “If we weren’t involved in this deal, the deal would’ve never happened. We changed the course of it, and we changed it fast, and frankly, it better be done before I take the oath of office.”
The deal was brokered by the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt.
