Former presidential aspirant and business man Jimi Wanjigi has dismissed efforts by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to succeed ODM leader Raila Odinga as the leader of the opposition.
On Sunday, March 3, During a press conference, Wanjigi criticised the former vice president’s candidate saying he has nothing to offer. He said Kalonzo has no capacity to take over the leadership of the opposition in the country. He slammed opposition leader for concentrating on ODM leader Raila Odinga’s bid for the chairmanship of the African Union Commission
According to Wanjigi, the Wiper leader should borrow a cue from the former prime minister and retire from active politics.
The businessman argued that seasoed politicians are part of the Kenya’s problems ad that they should exit the political stage to pave way for new leaders.
“Kalonzo Musyoka has hit the road positioning himself to take over leadership, but he should just take the cue from Raila and retire. He has nothing new to offer Kenyans and instead should usher in a new leadership in his own Wiper party,” Wanjigi said.
“What I don’t understand, however, is why since his (Raila) declaration, the people’s agenda, which we were made to believe, his coalition was championing, has been put on hold, and now the focus is on; if and when he takes the seat, who is going to benefit and how,”
