The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the results of Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State, despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) being the only authority constitutionally empowered to declare election results.
During a press conference on Sunday, ahead of INEC’s official collation at its central Collation Centre in Benin City, PDP governors, led by Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri, stated that the figures shared were from their ongoing collation process, which was reportedly disrupted by INEC.
Currently, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and PDP are in a competitive race for the governorship seat in Edo State.
