Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested an alleged vote-buyer during the ongoing Ondo State governorship election.
The suspect was reportedly caught with two Ghana-must-go bags filled with cash, allegedly intended to bribe voters.
The arrest occurred around 9:00 AM at Polling Unit 007, Ward 4, outside St. Stephen’s Primary School, Akure, Ondo State.
Meanwhile, incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has cast his vote at Polling Unit 6, Ward 4, in Obenla, Ilaje Local Government Area. Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, is seeking to retain his position in a competitive race against 16 other candidates, including former Governor Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
