President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been reminded by Fulani Leaders of the reason he was voted in.
They spoke at the quarterly’s Fulbe United for Peace and Development National and Zonal Leadership Consultative Meeting in Abuja on Monday where they took the opportunity to urge the President to fulfill il promises made to Fulanis across Nigeria.
The president of the association, Ardo Aliyu Liman Bobboyi, said President Tinubu was conferred with the title of Barkindo of Nigerian Ardo during the campaign which was a way of sealing the ‘Fulaaku covenant’ with him.
In his speech, the South West coordinator of the association, who is the Ardo Abeokuta, Muhammad Kabir Labar, berated the ban of grazing around Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, without making provision for an alternative for the cattle owners.
“It is expected of every person that wants to take over or ban to call stakeholders and discuss the way forward.
“Our business has to be somewhere and the other businesses need to be somewhere. We have all agreed to that. Let’s be considerate with ourselves and discuss the way forward. We don’t call for conflict. We are peace-loving Nigerians, and we have been contributing to the development of this country right from day one,” he said.
The group further distanced itself from the statement credited to the Northern Elders Forum which said it expressed voting for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They Ardos said they are not part of any union regretting voting or supporting the President.
