The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s complaints regarding Anugbum Onuoha’s role as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Edo State.
Wike expressed surprise that the party leadership raised concerns only days before the election, emphasizing that Onuoha, his first cousin, has been serving in the position for over a year.
The PDP’s Edo State Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, had requested that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) redeploy Onuoha due to his connection with Wike, citing concerns about the REC’s ability to conduct a free and fair election.
Onuoha had previously served as a special adviser on lands to Wike during his tenure as the governor of Rivers State.
