Nigeria is set to conduct its national census in 2025, marking the first population count in nearly two decades since the last one in 2006.
The Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Nasir Isa Kwarra, announced this during the 2024 anniversary of the Nairobi Summit on the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Abuja.
The delay in conducting the census has posed significant challenges in resource allocation and demographic planning. Kwarra emphasized the importance of accurate population data for informed decision-making and addressing reproductive health needs.
