The Katsina State Government House in Katsina was reportedly engulfed by fire early Monday morning.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
According to Alhaji Bashir, a local resident whose home is near the Government House, the fire began around 6 a.m.
He claimed to witness a fire service truck rushing to the scene shortly after he had returned home from early morning prayers.
Bashir mentioned that the fire appeared to be concentrated in the red chamber, where Governor Dikko traditionally hosts guests.
