Currently, individuals are needed to fill the role of Distribution Lead at their Lagos location. This full-time position presents a unique opportunity to spearhead transportation operations, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize delivery processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As the Distribution Lead, you’ll oversee all transportation activities, from shipment execution to delivery to both trade and plant customers. Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic planning and execution of shipment operations, tailored to the market’s unique complexities.
- Timely resolution of complex trade issues through effective escalation and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensuring truck efficiency and maintenance, driving routine servicing, and fuel management.
- Implementing measures to drive business recovery and profitability, including quality control and loss prevention initiatives.
- Enforcing adherence to safety and quality standards, promoting good housekeeping and manufacturing practices.
- Participating in regular business performance reviews contributes to strategic decision-making through data analysis and insights.
- Alignment of haulage plans with demand forecasts, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing out-of-stock situations.
- Monitoring resource availability and vehicle breakdowns, facilitating prompt resolution and reporting.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- HND/BSc in a relevant discipline.
- Proficiency in warehouse software packages and MS Office.
- Business acumen and understanding of transportation key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Previous experience in warehouse or distribution roles, with knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Strong leadership potential, coupled with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to retrieve and analyze data for informed decision-making.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and excellent time management.
- Budgeting and cost control skills, along with sound decision-making abilities.
