Judy Austin, Yul Edochie’s partner, voiced her apprehension regarding the increasing tendency of female students prioritizing relationships over their academic responsibilities.
In an online ministration, Judy Austin and her husband Yul Edochie tackled the concerning trend of young girls veering towards wayward lifestyles, emphasizing the importance of steering clear from such paths which can be dangerous.
Throughout the online session, Judy Austin fervently emphasized the significance of prioritizing education over relationships. She warned against succumbing to peer pressure and societal norms, urging young girls to stay focused on their academic pursuits for a brighter future. Making her point, she said;
In her words; “How can you as a young girl between the age of 16 to 21 be playing the role of a wife to your boyfriend? Also cut off from friends who want to introduce you to rich men”
Austin highlighted cases where young girls abandon their studies to adopt a “wife role” for financial gain instead of concentrating on their education. She stressed the importance for young ladies to maintain focus on their academic goals and resist distractions that could impede their progress.
However, many have criticized this comment stating that she has no strong standing to make such pronouncement with allegations of her doing the same which has led to someone saying “you can’t give what you don’t have” addressed to her, Undercutting her and her moral standing.
