Speaking in the latest episode of the ‘In My Opinion’ podcast, Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has said he quit smoking weed due to anxiety attack which was in turn affecting his performance during studio session and his creativity as an artist.
The famous and well known singer explained that he stopped smoking weed four years ago because he was “scared of the future.” He, however, admitted that he still smokes cigarettes although in small quantities.
Quoting Shmurda, he said: “I don’t smoke igbo [weed]. I used to but I started having anxieties smoking weed. I started getting scared of the future.”
“Everything I was doing when I was smoking weed, I was having anxieties. At a point, it was affecting me in the studio. I would just be lost in the middle. It wasn’t working anymore. I just have to stop. That was earlier in my career. It wasn’t helping.”
Making his point, he said contrary to claims that smoking weed boosts creativity, “it wasn’t helping the creativity in my case.” and that he stopped taking weed four years ago,
He said; “I stopped smoking weed four years ago, I just take cigarettes and liquor.”
