Former United States President Barack Obama has included two Nigerian singers, Rema and Asake, in his list of favorite music for 2024.
Released on Saturday, the list features Rema’s song “Yayo” and Asake’s track “Active” featuring Travis Scott.
Additionally, South African artist Tyla is highlighted with her song “Jump” featuring Gunna and Skillibeng. Nigerian-American singers Shaboozey and Jordan Adetunji also made the list with their songs “A Bar Song” and “Kehlani.”
Familiar names like Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, and Karol G also made the cut with one song each. Obama shared his list on X, inviting people to check out his favorites and suggesting they let him know if there are any songs or artists he should listen to.
