President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate newly completed projects at the University of Ilorin during its 39th convocation ceremonies on October 22, 2024.
Additionally, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, will deliver the Convocation Lecture on Friday, October 18, 2024, as part of the event’s activities.
According to a statement by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, the convocation ceremonies will begin with a press briefing by the Vice Chancellor on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
The Convocation Lecture, entitled “Nurturing Democratic Values and Education for the Future of Nigeria”, will be held at the University Auditorium the next day, followed by a Convocation Play, “Nilee Wa’ (In Our Land)”, at the Performing Arts Theatre.
The main convocation will take place on October 21 and 22, 2024, for graduates of 4-year, 5-year, and postgraduate programs. On October 22, President Tinubu, who is the University’s Visitor, is expected to commission new projects on campus.
