The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the registration guidelines for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Aspiring candidates are advised to take note of the following important dates and requirements to ensure a smooth registration process.
Important Dates:
- Registration Start Date: Wednesday, January 15th, 2025
- Registration Deadline: Wednesday, February 26th, 2025
- Mock Examination Date: Friday, March 7th, 2025
- Mock Slip Reprinting: Thursday, April 10th, 2025
- Examination Dates: April 18th-28th, 2025
- Result Release Date: Wednesday, April 30th, 2025
Registration Fees:
The registration fee for the 2025 UTME is set at ₦7,700. This fee covers the cost of the examination, the compulsory novel, and other administrative charges.
Compulsory Novel:
Candidates are required to read “The Life Changer” by Khadija A. Jalli. This novel is part of the examination syllabus and will be tested in the Use of English paper.
Reprinting of Examination Slip:
Candidates must reprint their examination slips starting from Thursday, April 10th, 2025. The slip contains important details such as the examination center, date, and time.
Mock Examination:
JAMB will conduct a mock examination on Friday, March 7th, 2025, to help candidates familiarize themselves with the examination environment and process. Participation in the mock exam is optional but highly recommended.
In addition to these guidelines, JAMB has implemented several measures to ensure a smooth registration and examination process:
- Biometric Verification: All candidates are required to undergo biometric verification at the point of registration to prevent impersonation and other examination malpractices.
- NIN Requirement: Candidates must have a National Identification Number (NIN) as part of the registration process. This is in line with JAMB’s efforts to streamline candidate information and enhance security.
- Accredited CBT Centers: Registration and the actual UTME will be conducted at accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers across the country. Candidates are advised to visit only these approved centers to avoid issues.
- Support Services: JAMB has set up helplines and support services to assist candidates with the registration process and address any challenges that may arise.
