A Southwest Airlines plane was struck by gunfire while preparing for departure at Dallas Love Field Airport on Friday night.
The incident occurred around 9:50 PM local time, as Southwest Airlines Flight 2494 was set to depart for Indianapolis. A bullet struck the right side of the plane, just below the flight deck, prompting the aircraft to return to the gate.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all passengers were safely deplaned. The plane has been removed from service, and law enforcement authorities are investigating the incident. The runway was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
