Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has announced the completion of Phase 1 of the 11MW Hybrid Power Solution Independent Power Project (IPP).
The first phase, which provides 5MW of power, is set to be commissioned today, December 6, 2024. This project is a public-private partnership between the Oyo State Government and Elektron Energy.
Governor Makinde expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the project, emphasizing its role in powering the ongoing Light Up Oyo initiative. Once fully completed, the project will meet the energy needs of various infrastructural facilities in the state.
The governor also highlighted the ongoing Oyo State-Shell Nigeria Gas project and reiterated his commitment to laying strong foundations for sustainable development.
Another major initiative, the Eruwa Agribusiness Industrial Hub, was recently flagged off, aiming to make agribusiness a significant driver of the state’s economy.
