GTBank, one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, has addressed concerns regarding its website, which has been down since Wednesday night.
The bank clarified that the issue is not due to a cloning of its website but rather an “isolated incident of an attempt to compromise” the bank’s domain.
In a statement released on Thursday, GTBank emphasized that it does not store customer information on its website, ensuring that no customer data has been compromised.
The bank reassured its customers and stakeholders that its website has not been cloned, and that a dedicated team of Information Security Experts is working tirelessly to restore the domain settings.
The bank further urged customers to disregard claims of a data breach reported in some media outlets, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding customer data.
The bank assured that its website would be operational again shortly.
