The naira appreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market for the first time this week.
FMDQ data showed that the naira gained ₦0.47 to close at ₦1,541.23 per dollar on Thursday, up from ₦1,541.70 traded the previous day.
Meanwhile, the naira remained stable at ₦1,660 per dollar on Thursday, the same exchange rate recorded the previous day.
This development comes as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced an immediate suspension of approvals for the extension of repatriation of export proceeds on Thursday.
