The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, announced that President Bola Tinubu is closely monitoring the #EndBadGovernance protests occurring nationwide.
Bagudu made this statement on Saturday during Channels Television’s special program, “The August Protest — #EndBadGovernance.”
“Mr President has been monitoring the situation, as he ought to. Very responsibly,” he said.
“I am a minister. I also have responsibilities. I have also been monitoring this thing. I have been noting this thing so that I can make inputs.”
“We have been monitoring and listening carefully to hear what is being said and what noting them,” Bagudu said on the show.
Nigerians who are struggling to afford basic items had trooped to the streets across several cities to register their grievances over the reforms by the Tinubu government.
There have also been calls for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the nation, however, he is yet to do that.
The minister acknowledged the hardship facing Nigerians but noted that it is not unique to the country.
He assured that the Federal Government is actively working to alleviate these challenges and improve the lives of citizens.
