In Bauchi State, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) prevailed in all four state constituency rerun elections on Saturday.
In the impacted constituencies, the results were declared on Sunday by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, the Returning Officers for the election. Returning Officer for the Madara Chinade Constituency, Prof. Ahmed Abdulkadir, reported that Dr. Ala Ahmed of the PDP received 13,920 votes, while Mr. Dantali Ali of the All Progressives Congress, APC, received 9,710 votes.
With 1,857 votes, Jamilu Dahiru of the PDP was proclaimed the winner in Bauchi Central by Returning Officer Prof. Ismail Shehu. Aliyu Abdullahi of the APC received 858 votes, placing him in second place.
According to Prof. Ahmed Abdulhamid, the Returning Officer for the Ningi constituency, Abubakar Suleiman of the PDP received 11,785 votes, while Khalid Ningi of the APC received 339 votes.
Prof. Adamu Samaila, the Returning Officer, announced Yusuf Ahmed of the PDP as the winner in the Zungur Galambi State Constituency. Ahmed received 2,233 votes, while Ibrahim Yuguda of the APC received 1,928 votes.
