Ogbonnaya Onu, the Minister of Science and Technology during Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s first tenure is dead.
He died today at a hospital in Abuja, where has been since he fell ill.
Onu was, in November 2015, appointed as the Minister of Science and Technology.
However, he resigned his position on May 6, 2022 to join the APC presidential race, which he lost to the incumbent President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Onu, who was the first civilian governor in Abia State was last seen in public during the APC primary election in 2022 when he claimed the people of Southeast are being marginalized.
He was aged 72.
