6 Fruits To Avoid During Pregnancy

1. Pineapple

This is a fruit that you should avoid all together most especially during the first trimester. This is because pineapple is rich in Bromelain. Bromelain is an enzyme which could soften the cervix and induce labour and can also cause bleeding.

2. Unripe Papaya

Unripe papaya is a no go area for pregnant women because it contains Latex. Latex according to research can induce premature contractions.

3. Grapes

Grapes should be avoided by pregnant women most especially those in the last trimester because grapes are known to generate heat in the body. For a pregnant woman, this is dangerous because it can lead to complications for both the mother and fetus.

4. Bitter Melon

Bitter melon contains saponin and quinine all of which can cause abdominal pain and can also trigger an irritation in the uterus which can trigger premature birth.

5. Tamarind

Excessive consumption of Tamarind is quite dangerous for pregnant women. Tamarind contains compounds which can slow down the production of progesterone and can even cause cell damage in the fetus.

6. Frozen Fruits

Frozen fruits such as frozen berries and it's likes should all be avoided during pregnancy, this is because they usually contain a large quantity of chemicals, preservatives and sodium. All of which are bad for a pregnant woman.
