Olubadan Buried at Ancestral Home

Ọba Lekan Balogun, Late Olúbàdàn of Ibadanland

The remains of the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun Alli Okunmade II, have been laid to rest. He was buried in a special graveyard beside his forebears from the Alli-Iwo Dynasty.

He was buried at 4:30pm according to Islamic Injunctions.

The burial was attended by Dignitaries led by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, who represented the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde.

Members of the Olubadan-in-Council were led by the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief (Sen.) Rashidi Ladoja.

Earlier, there was a lying-in-state at Mapo Hall from 12 noon to 1pm before the remains of the monarch were moved to Ali-Iwo for burial after prayers.

Ọba Lekan Balogun joined his ancestors on Thursday, 14th of March 2024 after 2-Years and 3-days on the throne.
