Tesla unveils Robovan, Robotaxi and Optimus humanoid

Elon Musk has been introduced the world to a vision of a future dominated by advanced robotics and electric vehicles, at a Tesla Cybercab event, unveiling the Tesla Robovan, Robotaxi, and the Optimus humanoid robot.

These innovations are set to revolutionize transportation and daily life.

The event’s highlight came when a group of Optimus robots walked out alongside the new Tesla Robovan, showcasing Musk’s futuristic vision—a world where humanoid robots seamlessly assist with everyday tasks, side by side with self-driving electric vehicles.

The Optimus robot, designed to handle household chores, was featured in a video performing tasks such as retrieving packages and watering plants.

Musk, with his signature humour, hinted that these robots could soon become as common as household appliances, even joking, “You’ll be able to walk right up to them, and they will serve drinks.”

While the live demonstration showed Optimus performing simple actions, like waving and playing games with guests, the robots’ potential for complex tasks was clear. A memorable moment saw multiple Optimus robots dancing together, demonstrating their mobility and dexterity, giving a glimpse of Tesla’s robotic future.

How much is Elon Musk’s Optimus Humanoid

According to Musk, Optimus will eventually be priced between $20,000 and $30,000, making it a product aimed at broader commercial and residential use.

Robovan and Robotaxi: Tesla’s Next Leap in Autonomous Transport

Alongside the humanoid robots, Tesla also revealed the Robovan and Robotaxi, a long-awaited vehicle designed for shared, autonomous transport.

Elon Musk’s vision for the Robovan focuses on efficiency and sustainability, catering to families, and small businesses, and potentially becoming a key player in autonomous ridesharing networks.

This vehicle could serve as the backbone for Musk’s long-term vision of fleets of Robotaxis operating autonomously in urban centres.
