This decision comes after the two organizations signed an agreement, marking a significant milestone in TD Africa’s mission to make internet access more accessible across the continent. Chioma Chimere, TD Africa’s Coordinating Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting its potential to support Starlink’s goal of revolutionizing global internet access.
She emphasized TD Africa’s commitment to providing affordable internet solutions to individuals and businesses, highlighting the growth opportunities this agreement brings across Africa.
Chimere underscored the transformative impact of the partnership between Starlink and TD Africa, describing it as a pivotal moment for internet access in Africa. Starlink, operated by SpaceX, offers quality and cost-effective internet services, particularly to underserved or remote areas.
TD Africa intends to leverage Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency, and broad coverage capabilities to bridge the digital divide in Nigeria and beyond. With an extensive customer base and a presence in over 70 countries, Starlink has established itself as a leading provider of broadband internet services since its inception in 2019.
TD Africa, known for its representation of global tech giants such as Microsoft, IBM, and Apple, among others, is well-positioned to distribute Starlink internet kits across Nigeria. With a strong presence in 47 African countries as Microsoft’s Cloud Solution Provider, TD Africa aims to enhance internet accessibility and connectivity throughout the region.
