Google has introduced a new AI-powered tool designed to enhance the security of Gmail accounts.
The tool, named RETVec (Resilient & Efficient Text Vectorizer), aims to improve spam detection and protect users from phishing scams. RETVec can detect spam in over 100 languages and identify subtle changes in fonts that scammers often use.
The new AI model has been battle-tested within Google and has shown to improve spam detection by 38% and reduce false positives by 194%.
It also requires less processing power, making it more efficient and accessible even on smartphones.
