Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson in an eight-round heavyweight match at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Friday night.

Paul won by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the fight in his favor: 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73.

The fight was sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and featured 2-minute rounds with both fighters using 14-ounce gloves, as opposed to the usual 10-ounce gloves for heavyweight bouts.

Originally scheduled for July 20, the match was postponed due to Tyson’s medical attention during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in May for an ulcer flare-up. Tyson, now 58, returned to the ring with a record of 50-7, including 44 KOs.

He became the youngest heavyweight champion at age 20 in 1986 and unified all three major belts the following year to become the undisputed champion. He made six title defenses before losing to James “Buster” Douglas by a 10th-round KO in February 1990.

Jake Paul, aged 27 and a YouTuber-turned-boxer, has an 11-1 record with 7 KOs. He began his boxing career in 2020 with six consecutive victories, mainly against former MMA fighters.

His sole loss came against Tommy Fury in February 2023, but he has since secured four consecutive wins.
