UEFA reveals 2024 Ballon d’Or awards ceremony date and venue, adds two categories

The maiden edition of a Ballon d’Or being co-organized by UEFA and Groupe Amaury, owner of the media companies France Football and L’Équipe is to hold in 2024.

Both organizations have revealed the date and venue for this season’s event.

The event, which is the 68th overall edition of the prestigious awards ceremony will take place on Monday 28 October at the Théâtre du Châtelet, located at the Place du Châtelet on the banks of the Seine.

The award has been presented annually by France Football since 1956, and is rated by some analysts as the most distinguished accolade a footballer can receive in recognition of outstanding achievements and exceptional talent.

The 2024 awards will include the Men’s Ballon d’Or, Women’s Ballon d’Or, Kopa Trophy (best player under 21 years of age), Yashin Trophy (best goalkeeper), Gerd Müller Trophy (top scorer of the previous season), Men’s Club of the Year Trophy and Women’s Club of the Year Trophy.

The latest edition will witness the inaugural presentation of two new accolades which have been added to the list of prizes: Men’s Coach of the Year Trophy and Women’s Coach of the Year Trophy, recognising the invaluable contribution of coaches to success on the pitch.

The nominees for this season’s awards will be announced on 4 September.
