President Bola Tinubu will attend the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final, according to Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football Federations (CAF).
On Sunday, the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, will host the game between Nigeria and the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire.
Motsepe was asked if Africa would ever host the World Cup again at a news conference on Friday at the Palace de la Culture in Trechville, Abidjan.
Motsepe replied: “Nigeria must put in a bid. The Nigerian president (Bola Tinubu) is coming to watch the final on Sunday. I will have a conversation with him about it.”
Remember how the Super Eagles upset South Africa 4-2 on penalties on Wednesday in the semifinals? Vice President of Nigeria Kashim Shettima was present.
Nigerian time for the AFCON final between Cote D’Ivoire and Nigeria is 9 p.m.
