Piers Morgan has taken a fresh swipe at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, calling him a “complete idiot” and questioning his ability to lead the club to success.
Morgan, a longtime supporter of Cristiano Ronaldo, also reiterated his belief that Ten Hag’s management style is ill-suited for handling top-tier talent, including Ronaldo.
In an interview with talkSPORT, Morgan criticized Ten Hag’s approach to managing star players, mentioning that the Dutch manager has struggled with figures like Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford.
He contrasted this with Ten Hag’s ability to manage players from Ajax or those less experienced on the global stage.
Morgan further claimed that had Ronaldo stayed at Manchester United, he would have outperformed the club’s current strikers. Referring to Ronaldo as “the greatest that has ever played the game,” Morgan pointed to the player’s recent form with Portugal, where he scored his 901st career goal in a 2-1 win over Scotland.
This is not the first time Morgan has criticized Ten Hag, as he has previously referred to the United manager as a “clown” following Ronaldo’s exit from the club in 2022.
