Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has unveiled a fresh set of players and kits for the 2024/25 season.
During the event held on Monday, the club introduced eight new players, alongside their home, away, and alternative jerseys.
The new signings include goalkeepers Abiodun Akande from Rivers United and Mustapha Lawal from Sunshine Stars, defender Ojietefian Sylvester from Enyimba, and left-back Ikouwem Udom, who joins from Anenir Sportif De la Marsar in Tunisia. Midfielder Abubakar Aliu from Lobi Stars, Adebayo Abayomi from Remo Stars, Bolaji Sakin Simeon from Congolese side AS Otoho, and striker Ayanrinde Samuel, who last played for Sporting Lagos FC, also join the Oluyole Warriors.
The Executive Chairman of 3SC, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, highlighted the club’s determination to improve on last season’s performance, which prompted the recruitment of these quality players. He emphasized the club’s focus on continuity by retaining most of last season’s key players, including head coach Gbenga Ogunbote.
Akoro expressed the club’s ambition to compete for the league title, revealing that additional players would be unveiled as the team gears up for the new season.
Coach Gbenga Ogunbote noted that the new signings were made to address specific areas of weakness identified last season, while General Manager Dimeji Lawal voiced optimism that the fresh recruits would elevate the team’s performance, promising fans a successful campaign.
