A September return to boxing at Wembley Stadium has been confirmed by Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
“It’s going to be in London, Wembley Stadium. This is what I’m being told. If that’s what they say, they normally back their word so let’s go with that,” he told Talk Sport on Saturday.
“Wembley, September 20 or 21. You have Filip Hrgovic versus Daniel Dubois and Zhilei Zhang versus Deontay Wilder (on June 1). So providing one of those (winners) looks good – the one who looks the best, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh said to me, ‘I want you to fight him.’ He’s trying to deliver what the fans want.”
Joshua was last seen in the ring dominating Francis Ngannou in one round last March in Saudi Arabia.
