Manchester City have confirmed that Rodri has suffered ligament damage to his right knee, sustained during the club’s 2-2 Premier League draw against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
The full extent of the injury remains uncertain, as further assessments are being conducted.
A statement from Manchester City read: “Assessment remains ongoing to ascertain the full extent of the injury and expected prognosis. Everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.”
Rodri has traveled to Spain for specialist consultation following initial tests in Manchester.
While early reports suggested he could miss the remainder of the season, manager Pep Guardiola remains cautiously optimistic.
Guardiola noted: “He’ll be out for a long time, a while, but there is some opinion that maybe it will be less than we expect.” The club is awaiting final confirmation from doctors regarding the necessary treatment and potential surgery.
