Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has admitted that facing Manchester City, led by Pep Guardiola, is always a daunting challenge.
Ancelotti made this comment during his pre-match press conference ahead of their Champions League playoff first leg at the Etihad Stadium.
He mentioned that Guardiola consistently introduces new tactics and innovations in football.
“Playing against Pep Guardiola’s teams is always a nightmare,” Ancelotti remarked. “Pep has always aimed to bring new tactics and innovations into the game. I have immense respect for him; he’s arguably the best.”
Ancelotti praised Guardiola as the ‘best coach in the UEFA Champions League’ ahead of their upcoming clash.
The victor of the two-leg fixtures between Madrid and City will advance to the Champions League Round of 16.
