Former Super Eagles coach Finidi George has revealed that Victor Osimhen has yet to apologize for a viral social media outburst in which he disrespected the coach.
The incident occurred after Osimhen went live on Instagram, countering claims that Finidi accused him of faking an injury to avoid playing in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
The outburst sparked widespread criticism, with calls for the forward to apologize.
In an interview with Nigeria Info FM, Finidi, now head coach of Rivers United, shared that he had reached out to Osimhen to address the issue.
“I sent him a message that it was not the best way, just someone telling you that coach said that and you’re talking about me like I said it in an interview,” Finidi explained, adding that he has since moved on despite not receiving a response from Osimhen.
When asked if Osimhen should face disciplinary action, Finidi expressed a lenient stance: “We cannot crucify him, he has made a mistake, we have moved on, and life goes on.”
