Galatasaray has reportedly reached an agreement with Napoli to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on a season-long loan before the Turkish transfer window closes.
This comes after Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli soured, following failed transfer moves to Saudi Arabia and Chelsea on deadline day.
According to renowned football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, negotiations are underway, with both clubs working to finalize the deal.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the report, noting that the loan arrangement will see Galatasaray cover €9-10 million of Osimhen’s salary. However, the deal does not include an option or obligation for a permanent transfer.
Romano tweeted that a Galatasaray delegation will soon meet with Osimhen in Napoli to secure his final approval for the move. With European transfer windows closed, Galatasaray is one of the few clubs still active, and they are eager to take advantage of this opportunity.
Osimhen’s exclusion from Napoli’s squad has fueled speculation about his future, with the Italian side seemingly holding him back until his transfer status is resolved.
The urgency to secure a striker for Galatasaray has intensified after Mauro Icardi’s injury left a void in their attack. The Turkish club is even considering a tactical shift to accommodate both Icardi and Osimhen when Icardi returns to fitness.
The wave of happiness is sweeping over the club as pictures of fans wearing his unnumbered Galatasaray shirt has flooded the web.
