Millwall goalkeeper, Matija Sarkic, has died at 26.
Sarkic reportedly fell ill while on international duty with Montenegro.
He was said to be in the coastal Montenegro town of Budva, when he fell ill while with friends at an apartment on Saturday morning.
He was quickly taken away by an ambulance from the scene but ultimately gave up the ghost around 6:30 am local time.
Local police have now begun an investigation into Sarkic’s death, although it is being suggested that the death was due to natural causes.
His clubside, Millwall, in a statement said they were devastated about the news and also blacked out their X profile out of respect.
