Liverpool, Leverkusen draw Tricky Opponents in Europa League Round-of-16

Liverpool, West Ham, Brighton, and Rangers have all learned who their opponents would be in the following round of the Europa League after the draw was completed.

After the play-offs including third-place Champions League teams ended, Uefa held the draw this morning in Nyon. Other candidates include Bayer Leverkusen, led by Xabi Alonso, who is leading the Bundesliga this year; Villarreal, AC Milan, Atalanta, and Benfica might also pose a threat.

The result of the draw is as follows:

Sparta Prague vs Liverpool

AS Roma vê Brighton

Benfica vs Rangers

Freiburg vs West Ham

Marseille vs Villarreal

Sporting vs Atalanta

AC Milan vs Slavia Prague

Qarabag vs Bayer Leverkusen

The group stage winners will play the return leg at home in the Round-of-16, which will take place over two legs in March.

The first leg is slated for March 7th, while the second leg is set for March 14th, one week later.

However due to an anticipated City clash between Sporting Lisbon and Benfica, One of their first leg matches will be played on Tuesday, March 5th instead.
