Former Barcelona playmaker Andrés Iniesta is set to retire from professional football, with the announcement scheduled for October 8, 2024.
The 40-year-old, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in football history, will conclude an illustrious career spanning over two decades.
Iniesta shared a teaser video on his X page, stating, “Coming soon 8/10/24.” Throughout his remarkable career, he made 674 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 57 goals and providing 135 assists.
During his time at the club, Iniesta won 32 trophies, including nine La Liga titles, four Champions League titles, and six Copa del Rey trophies.
His departure marks the end of an era for both Iniesta and the football world.
