I rejected Clubs to join United – Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson

Former Manchester United coach, Sir Alex Ferguson, revealed that before moving to Old Trafford, he had offers from three English Clubs.

He listed Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

His decision to join Manchester United was influenced by Aberdeen chairman Dick Donald, who advised him to only leave Aberdeen for United.

“I said [to Aberdeen chairman Dick Donald] that maybe it was time for me to leave, blah, blah, blah, and he said to me ‘don’t talk like that’. You should go only to one club – Manchester United.

Ferguson, who had guided Aberdeen to multiple titles, was eager to make the move when United came calling. His legendary managerial career at United solidified him as one of the greatest managers in football history.
