Hudson-Odoi strikes as Liverpool ‘Walk Alone’

Nottingham Forest pulled off a historic victory at Anfield, defeating Liverpool 1-0 and securing their first win at the iconic stadium since 1969.

A brilliant strike from Callum Hudson-Odoi handed Liverpool manager Arne Slot his first defeat in charge and continued Forest’s strong start to the season.

Liverpool struggled to find their rhythm, with Forest’s disciplined defensive display limiting their attacking options. Àlex Moreno successfully kept Mohamed Salah in check, while Ryan Yates clashed intensely with Alexis Mac Allister in midfield.

Despite Luis Díaz hitting the post in the first half and a scare caused by a goalkeeper error from Matz Sels, Liverpool failed to capitalize on their chances.

Substitutions from Liverpool brought on Cody Gakpo, Conor Bradley, and Darwin Núñez, but it was Forest’s change, with Anthony Elanga assisting Hudson-Odoi, that led to the decisive goal.

Hudson-Odoi’s superb effort beat Alisson, leaving Liverpool stunned. Forest defended resiliently in the closing minutes, keeping Liverpool at bay to claim a well-deserved victory.

Despite the loss, Liverpool remains ahead of Forest in the standings, but this result keeps Forest unbeaten so far this season.
