Harry Kane breaks Emirates record, respond to Arsenal fans’ taunts

Harry Kane

On a night marking Arsenal’s first UEFA Champions League knockout game in years, Harry Kane, now at Bayern Munich, proved to be a thorn in their flesh once again.

While at Tottenham, Kane bagged goals for fun against Arsenal in their famed North London Derby.

The story wasn’t different in the UCL as the England captain netted a cool penalty to give the German club the lead after Serge Gnabry had cancelled out Bukayo Saka’s opener.

Leandro Trossard would eventually level the scores to give Mikel Arteta’s side a positive result heading to the return leg at the Allianz Arena next week.

Kane, who has enjoyed a fine debut season with Bayern despite their wider struggles, became the highest-scoring opposition player in the history of the Emirates Stadium. The penalty took him to six goals there and he was interviewed by the TNT Sports pundits after the game.

While conducting the interview, a group of Arsenal supporters chanted anti-Tottenham songs at Spurs’ all-time leading goalscorer, who joked: “I think they have a soft respect for me.”
