Fecafoot President Samuel Eto’o is reportedly gearing up for a run at the CAF presidency in the elections scheduled for March 25, 2025.
Although no formal declaration has been made, speculation is growing around his candidacy.
Eto’o is believed to be consulting with former CAF President Ahmad Ahmad to gain insights ahead of his potential campaign.
Additionally, he is reportedly grooming his advisor, Mongue Nyamsi, to take over his position at Fecafoot, potentially sidelining first vice president Celine Eko.
Meanwhile, current CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, who was elected unopposed in 2021, is being encouraged to seek re-election, adding more weight to the upcoming race.
However, some stakeholders are raising concerns about Eto’o’s eligibility due to recent controversies, including fines for ethics violations by CAF.
