With goalie Stanley Nwabili back in training, the Super Eagles of Nigeria get an injury boost going into their quarterfinal matchup against Angola.
Before the match against Angola, questions had been raised regarding the Chippa United goalie’s health following an injury sustained in the previous match against Cameroon.
In the four games he has played in the ongoing AFCON tournament, the 27-year-old Super Eagles goalkeeper has been outstanding. He has only given up a goal once.
During the team’s most recent practice, Stanley Nwabili was observed working with the goalkeeper trainer. This comes after a scan that was performed on the wound that he received; the results are still pending.
Nwabili is back in training, so the goalie isn’t completely out of the match against Angola.
The Super Eagles and the Palancas Negras of Angola will trade tackles at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Friday.
