Barcelona confirm new Camp Nou return date

Camp Nou

Barcelona have confirmed that they will not return to Camp Nou until the second half of the 2024/25 season, extending their temporary stay at Estadi Olimpic.

The club had initially planned to move back in December 2024 but has now delayed this due to ongoing redevelopment work.

Since leaving Camp Nou at the end of the 2022/23 season, Barcelona have been playing at the smaller Estadi Olimpic, which has a capacity of 55,926, significantly down from Camp Nou’s 99,000.

Upon completion, the renovated Camp Nou will host around 105,000 spectators, making it the largest stadium in Europe.

The delay has contributed to a significant loss in revenue, with the club reporting over €100 million in annual losses from stadium operations.

However, Barcelona remains optimistic about future financial gains once the full redevelopment is completed, which is expected to happen later this decade.
