Football legends and eminent Nigerian personalities and celebrities, on Saturday, in Abuja, will trade tackles in the Charity Champions Cup.
Former Brazil keeper, Dida; former Arsenal players, Emmanuel Eboue, Robert Pires, Sol Campel; South African Mark Fish; Super Eagles’ former Captains, Austin Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo and former Ghana midfielder, George Boateng are expected to play in the match.
Others are Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, Alex Iwobi, Victor Osimhen, Vincent Enyeama, El-Hadji Diouf, Emmanuel Adebayor and Mario Balotelli.
Current Super Eagles stars like Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho will also play alongside Super Falcons duo Asisat Oshoala and Michelle Alozie.
Tiwa Savage, Ayo Makun, Akpororo, and Nedu Ani will further enliven the event.
Comedian Emmanuel Iwueke popularly known as Crazeclown who represented the foundation revealed this during a press conference held to herald the match.
Speaking during the dinner night held Friday, the founder of the foundation, Yahaya Attom, said he is happy to give succour to people who had issues with their eyes and he wants to use football to achieve the goal.
“The heart of this match beats in harmony with a noble cause by providing essential eye care services for the elderly in Nigeria.
“Together, we can score goals for vision and leave an indelible mark on the lives of Nigeria’s elderly population,” he said.
For its inaugural edition, the organisers aim to raise funds and awareness to help at least 10,000 Nigerians, particularly the elderly, address vision problems caused by refractive errors, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.
The match will take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
