Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that star winger Bukayo Saka will be out for “many weeks” due to a hamstring injury sustained during Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Saka was taken off in the 23rd minute and was seen leaving the stadium on crutches.
Arteta expressed his concern, saying, “It’s not looking good. He’s going to be out for many weeks. It’s a huge blow, but it’s going to be a big exercise for us to overcome another challenge.”
When asked about how he plans to cope with Saka’s absence, Arteta mentioned, “I’m putting some ideas together, we will be doing new things as we did when Ødegaard was out. Gabi has played there, Nwaneri and Trossard… also Havertz can play there. We will talk internally and see what’s the best solution.”
Saka’s injury comes at a crucial time for Arsenal, with several important fixtures lined up, including an FA Cup third-round clash against Manchester United and the opening leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle.
